Goodbye MJ...The King of Pop

It's been a while since I last wrote something in my blog but I feel compelled to dedicate a post to the King of Pop - Michael Jackson.

It was with shock that I read the news of his passing in the Straits Time this morning. At only 50 years of age, he still has a long life ahead of him, not to mention that he was supposed to have a series of concert that will help him to clear his debts and to allow him to start afresh.

Life sure is unpredictable. I am sad as I grew up listening to his songs.

"Bad" is one of his songs that I will remember for a long time to come

This is one of his albums that I still have...

R.I.P Michael. You were a true legend to the world of pop. You will be sorely missed here on Planet Earth.

It's been a long time since I last posted.

Was contemplating if I should continue posting on this blog since practically noone is reading it anyway but I guess I will...for the sake of a certain turtle in New Zealand who still check this page out everynow and then to keep himself updated on my life (at least I THINK he still comes here. LoL!)

Many things have happened to me since my last post...some good, some bad.

I got married in December 07, permed my hair shortly after that, cut it damn short 3 months later, bought a new car in May 08, went for my honeymoon and to Vietnam with my colleagues in June 08, moved into my new place in July 08(like FINALLY)...

And my grandmother passed away in April 08.

The last had been on my mind ever since it happened in April and even though it has been almost 4 months, I still miss her lots. Been dreaming about her alot recently too. =(

Anyway, just some pictures to end this short post. (only wedding pics at the moment cos I m too lazy to resize the others)

This is one of my last few photos with my grandma, taken during my Singapore wedding dinner in December 07, about 4 months before she passed away. I love this photo cos she looks so happy and healthy here even though she had been quite sickly before this.

I wonder when will the next time I will be posting here again.

Just got back from Hong Kong with my hubby last night. Went over to celebrate my birthday was well as to take a well-deserved holiday together. =) It was a trip filled with endless eating and shopping...so much so that I didn't take a SINGLE picture the 4 days I was there!

Oh well...there is always next time.

Sides, I didn't manage to head over to Ocean Park, or to take the skyrail over to the Ngong Ping Village to see the statue of the world's largest, outdoor, sitting bronze buddah anyway so there weren't many chances for me to take pictures anyway.

Started the day by waking up early in the morning (ok...not SOOOO early) to go to school to key in the CA2 results for my form class. After that, I took a cab down to Bugis to meet my mum for lunch before we headed over to "Nails Xpert" over at Purvis street for a pampering session...Medicure and Pedicure!

2 hours later, we headed to Vivocity to do some quick shopping before heading over to "Aquamarine" at Marina Mandarin for my birthday dinner with my hubby and my family.

Food was disappointing though as compared to the last time I hosted my ROM lunch there. I think I will head over to Shangri-la for their buffet in future. Wider variety and the food is nicer.

Anyway, once again, I forgot to take pictures with my hubby and my family so here are just 2 of the pictures that my dad took for me.

Overall, a nice cosy dinner with my love ones to celebrate my day...just the way I like it. =)

It seems only like yesterday when I set up this blog to celebrate and to record down my life in NIE and as a teacher.

Time flies...it's been two years and I am a full fledged teacher already.

I know that I haven been doing a good job of updating my blog recently but I promise I will try to upload whatever photos I can soon (yes turtle...soon!)

I know it's been more than a month since I last updated my blog.

Not much happening though I did went back to the land of "I don't know what the hell everyone is talking about" Indonesia and have some pictures to be posted up.

Other than that, I have officially graduated from NIE, having my convo next Tues, teachers at Canberra have been great, and I am in the afternoon session now teaching P2s again.

Oh...and I started Muay Thai again, PLUS...started jogging once a week, covering about 3km each time. This is a BIG thing for me cos I HATE JOGGING!

But what to do...getting married and photoshoot is in 3 weeks (slightly less actually) time and I need to look good.

Ok back with more photos another time.

Ended my practicum last Friday and I am now busy catching up on my sleep by waking up earliest at 11am every single day (on days that I do not need to go back to NIE that is).

Although I did not get my wish of being posted back to SiLing Primary School, I wasn't posted back to Hell *cough cough* Wellington either. *phew* Instead, I will officially be a teacher in Canberra Primary School comes 18 June. I wonder what lies ahead of me the next 3 years but one thing that's for sure...I hope Canberra is not another Wellington.

After that, it is 2 weeks of useless induction at NIE from 4th June to 15th June where I even need to visit Sembawang Air Base and some ITE campus. Waste of my time only.

To make things worse, my hubby told me that there is a Victoria Secret boutique at the shopping mall near his hotel too.

Oh well, here are a couple of items that I m eyeing.

Not to mentioned the other 13746375425 tops, dresses and bikinis that I am lusting over but I refuse to get as they cost too much.

I think I might as well just get a whole new wardrobe of clothings while I am at it. *Sigh*

But it's soooooo Not my fault that he is gonna be so broke when he comes back to Singapore. Who ask him to go without me...otherwise I will be paying for my own purchases. *Grinz*

Being giving tuition for the past 4 consecutive days.

Stupid exams...make me so busy both in school and at home.

However, 4 days of tuition = $180 richer (and I m charging only $20/hr instead of my usual rate of $35/hr as he is my neighbour so pai seh mah. Otherwise I would be $315 richer)

I am so looking forward to my Muay Thai class tomorrow and to go shopping on Friday.

Conflicting Emotions

My hubby called me from the States this morning.

He read my blog entry and asked me if I wanted the wallet for my birthday (which is in Sept!).

In the end, I decided against it as it was really way too much money to be blowing on a wallet (approx SGD $330) so he got me the wristlet instead which was about USD$100 cheaper. I can use the wristlet as a wallet too!

However, I am beaming from ear to ear from the fact that he actually considered buying the wallet for me, even though he usually frowns upon spending so much money on a single item.

Wats more, he already bought me a Tods wallet when I was in Europe back in 2005, and I got myself another Gucci wallet for almost $700 last year.

My hubby is the sweetest and bestest hubby in the world!!!

I got my wish of NOT going back to Wellington.

However, I didn't get posted back to SiLing either.

Instead, I got posted to Canberra Primary School.

I am going back to SiLing to try and see if I can get the principal's help to appeal against the posting and to go back to SiLing.

Otherwise, I just have to pray for the best in Canberra. Heard that the place is another Wellington. *Sigh*

After being married for only less than 2 months, my hubby left me alone in Singapore and went to Tunisia and USA for 3 whole weeks! *Argh*

He better come back with my shopping list or he is gonna get it from me! On the other hand...I miss him so much. *Sigh* =(

Oh! I am getting my hubby to buy this coach bag for me (in black).

It is going for $778 at the coach boutique in Singapore but it's only US$328 (approx SGD$500) there! *Yay*

Am also targetting this wristlet (USD$98)..

...though I think I will eventually give it as miss as I wun be carrying a wristlet around much. I have too many barang barangs to be able to fit all of them into it and I hardly go clubbing so this is quite useless.

Unless I use it as a wallet? Hmmm.....

I am also thinking of asking my hubby to head to F21 to get some dresses for me since there is one near the hotel that he is staying in. The dresses are so cheap over in the States! However, I am worried that the sizes will be wrong.

I love these dresses!!! HOW???????? *pull hair*

V-Day Update

I know it has been eons since I last posted but work had been playing catch-up with me the past 3 weeks and it was only recently that I mananged to gain a lead over it.

CNY was great with the usual "gather, eat, drink, gamble, repeat process" thingy and I didn't take as many photos as I did last year.

Latest update in my life is that I started my practicum last Monday, and so far everything is going great. Both my CTs are very nice and friendly people too though I think one of them has pretty high expectations as I got to work harder.

Ok I better head to bed now so here are some photos that were taken when I headed over to Batam with my guy for an early valentine's day celebration on 10 Feb 2006.

This is a small, runshop corner of the batam ferry terminal which had been transformed into a photocopying shop.

The people there are damn lazy lah!

You see the guy behind the counter? He wasn't in the shop when he first arrived but there was another guy sitting there so we asked if he could do the photocopying for us. He flatly refused, saying that it is not his job and we have to wait for the other guy to come back.

I was totally pissed off lah! Seriously, WTF? His job is just to sit there to tell people to wait for the guy to come back when he is not around? Whats more is that they charged us 5000 Rupiah just to photocopy like 2 pages. That is like almost ONE FREAKING DOLLAR.

When we first arrived, my guy was also FORCED to pay this guy 1000 Rupiah when the guy insisted on filling out a very short n simple form for him.

These are the things that totally puts me off Indonesia man. -_-"

This week is the last week of school (technically...I still have 3 assignments due on the Friday of the week of CNY. -_-") and NIE is determined to drown us.

3 reflections, 2 individual assignments, and 3 group assignments due in 2 weeks.

Went for my swim meet yesterday.

I think I need to train more lah. Stupid body of mine totally no stamina.

Was competing in the 4x 50m girls' breast stroke and the 4 x 50m mixed medlay relays and I almost died.

I was supposed to be the 1st swimmer in the girls' event, and I was also one of the 1st to be off the block. According to my team mates, I was also leading for the 1st half of the pool.

However, I slowly felt my arms turning to lead and by the time I touched the end of the pool, I think I was one of the last lah! *Sobz*

Thankfully, we managed to make it into the final 8 as the 3rd fastest team. Otherwise I sure feel damn guilty one.

I was on the way from hall to town to meet my mummy for a night of shopping last Friday when I encountered 2 of the rudest (got this word anot har?) people I had ever seen in my life!

1st was this Indian driver who was driving bus 179 and plying the NTU to Boon Lay Interchange route.

It is common knowledge in NTU that 179 comes VERY frequently, so much so that you don't really have to run for a bus if you happen to see one more than 100 metres away.

179 bus drivers are also usually quite patient, waiting for students who spotted the bus from the overhead bridge linking NTU and NIE to dash to the stop as soon as they can.

Now, I was walking up to the 179 bus stop from hall on Friday when I stopped 179 already at the bus stop. Due to the reason mentioned above though, coupled with the fact that I was carrying quite abit of barang barang, I didn't bother running for the bus. However, 179 waited at the bus stop for pretty long, so much so that I was only about 20m away (and I was strolling) before it finally left.

Before I could take another step though, another 179 pulled up at the bus stop and so I decided to pick up my pace to catch the bus.

There were a few people who were running to the bus stop , forming a small crowd there though so I didn't bother to run as I knew I would be able to catch the bus in time.

Just as I was about the reach the bus stop, the bus driver started to horn frantically and incessantly, and just about the minute I boarded the bus, he closed the door and zoomed off, leaving a couple of poor students who were trying their best to dash from the link bridge to the bus stop stranded.

*sigh* Good Service provided by our public transport sector? My Ass. Not when there are such employees around.

Hall 3 won the cheerleading competition for the Hall Olympaids! Woot!

Haha ok I know that was totally out of point and irrelevant to my title but I am just very happy for them. I personally know (and am pretty close to) a couple of girls in the hall's cheerleading team, and they had been putting in ALOT of hard work the past month jus to train for the competition. Imagine the weather had been terrible the past few weeks (rain, rain n more rain) but they will be up and training till 2 or 3am EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! That is total dedication and they so totally deserve to win. =)

Anyway, here are the latest update in my life ( of which the social part is practically non-existent. Sigh)

- E-filing needs to be done when my guy comes back from his business trip in Brunei.

- ROM gown has been selected n I need to go for fitting on 12 March.

After a couple of rounds, I was totally gone and almost couldnt hold on the handle at the final corner.

Did so much swimming from where I fall to the side of the lagoon, and walking back to the starting dock last night lah. *Sigh*

I know it has been eons since my last post.

I know that I have promised to post abt Hong Kong.

My cable wakeboarding post has also been sitting in my draft box for about a month already.

BUT IT"S NOT MY FAULT!

I have been swamped with work n other things since the new year began.

In fact, this week is only the SECOND week of school & I have an assignment due tomorrow (Tues 16 Jan), Wed (17 Jan), next Mon (22 Jan), and they are ALL big assignments (50% weightage).

Besides that I have swim training (swim meet is on 28 Jan), Courtyard 2 (29 Jam) is coming up so I will have drama rehersals, social dancing every Tues night at the comm hall (Waltz & Salsa)...

I foresee this is gonna be a long long semester even though technically, it is only till the end of Feb.

Oh, I'm getting married!

ROM is gonna be on the 15 March at Marina Mandarin followed by Lunch Reception at Crystal Jade Paragon, actual day is gonna be in Indonesia, Jakarta on the 2 Dec (my guy is Indo Chinese), Singapore's Dinner is on the 18 Dec @ Marina Mandarin.

I have been busy all weekend with my wedding bands, proposal rings, booking of hotel for the wedding dinner, making appointments with my bridal studio for gown fitting, blah blah blah.

It's time like this that I wish there are 2 me so that I wun go crazy.

But I am excited and this is good busy so I m not gonna complain too much. Hee.

All that's left for the wedding preparations at the moment includes:

1. Filing a notice of marriage with ROM.

2. Looking for a JP.

3. Going to the bridal studio to select my ROM gown.

4. Finalising the contract with Marina Mandarin.

5. Confirming namelist for those attending my ROM though I m gonna keep it simple and invite only relatives and my super close friends.

When and IF my apartment is completed and ready for collection by the last quarter of the year, I think I will be even busier than as I will have to prepare for Indo wedding, finalise Sg wedding, AND handle renovations for the house.

Thk goodness we bought a condo so only minimum renovations will be required.

So you say I still got time to post my HK trip anot lah! *Flop over n Faints*

2006 is almost coming to an end.

That also means that school holidays are gonna be over soon and the whole routine of mugging and churning out endless assignments will be here once again. *Sighz*

Got my results for last semester yesterday and I m generally pleased with them.

7 modules...1 A and 5 Bs.

However, I got a fyucking C+ for my fyucking Ed. Psychology. *mutter mutter*

I hate Psychology.

Now I have to work even harder next semester to pull up my GPA. -_-" (though I wasnt THAT hardworking this semester lah. Skipped quite a few lectures and overslept for a couple of morning tutorials. Hee.)

Been very busy the past 2 days for my upcoming event on Saturday.

Everyone in the team are like lost sheeps wandering around aimlessly and I had to delegate duties before anyone was willing to get down to work.

After unendless encouragement, coaching and jeering from everyone, I finally managed to conquer the jump/dock start and was riding happily until I reached the corners.

3 bad falls was all it took and my whole body is still blardy aching now even though it has been 2 days. -_-"

Add a bad cut & a nasty bruise on my right thigh where my wakeboard whacked me when I fell and 1 foot flew out of my bindings, plus 2 deep cuts on my right middle finger (which I have no idea where I got it from), and I have only 1 thing to say.

OUCH!

I just pray tt I can recover by Monday.

Booked a cab with Citycab twice (last friday and the one before), and both times the cab didn't turn up.

The 1st time it happened, I called citycab again after waiting for more than 20minutes. DID YOU KNOW WHAT THEY TOLD ME? "Oh I am sorry mam, seems like the taxi driver picked up the wrong passenger." W.T.F?!?!?! Then they put me on hold for another 5minutes while trying to allocate another cab for me. I hung up on them when Darren drove past and offered me a ride to town.

That's it. I am boycotting Citycab.

Darren brought me to Tong Shui Hong Kong Cafe for dinner last Wednesday. Food was yummilicous (we had Chee Chong Fun, chicken burger, baked cheese pasta, thick toast, drinks and desserts!) & we were there for over 2 hours cos they were showing this old HK movie whcih got us totally glued. LoL

I am going to Hong Kong and I am gonna stuff myself with thick toast!!! *Slurp*

Oh...Oh...the MOST amazing thing happened that day too!

Darren realised he did not have his car keys with him just as we were leaving the cafe (mind you, that was 2 hours after we arrived!) so he literally ran all the way back to the car. Thankfully, the car was still there, with the doors unlocked, and the keys still in the ignition.

Went shopping with my bestie and her mum on Friday, with my guy joining us for dinner.

Once again, I didn't managed to get much shopping done and only bought a pair of Gallaz slippers (on half price!) and a Shu Uemura blusher (20% disc!).

I is disappointed in myself. *Sighz* Nevermind, I am going Hong Kong in Dec and I shall shop till I drop there!

It was quite an experience to see my bestie n her mum in action though. Now I know where my bestie got her shopping habits from.

Ended up at Suntec and had Carls Jr instead (mmmmm...Beef Chilli fries and Portabello Mushroom Burger) with Ben's and Jerry's for dessert.

Checked out "Sexpo" at the convention center and it was BORING. Bumped into Daniel who was hosting the programs there though and Kumar put up a wonderful performance with new acts for his "Boom Boom Room Reunion Show". That alone was worth my $10 ticket.

Regardless, I m officially assignment and exams free till 8th Jan 2007. That is 51 whole glorious days of playing! Woot!

Just received the schedule for IHG training in Dec. I have netball trainings on Mon, Wed and Fri, while hockey training is on Tues and Thurs.

I still have wakeboarding trainings and that is gonna be at least twice a week.

Looks like someone is gonna get her wish to exercise more REAAAALLLL soon and lose some weight just in time for Chinese New Year.

This was taken some time back when me and Darren sneaked into Chun's room to disturb him while he was sleeping. See Chun holding a phone to his ear? That was cos I called him. He woke up, looked at his phone, went "Hello"...and fell asleep again! -_-"

This was also taken some time back when we went for dinner. Greedy Darren ordered a $5 plate of fried rice and he used the big scoop (usually used for dividing the rice into smaller portions) to eat! The spoon beside it was what I used.

These were taken when we were mugging for our exams in the tutorial room. Darren got bored and he kidnapped my phone and used the camera to cam whore.

He even took a photo of himself while drinking! *Faints*

One of the rare moments where he decided to point the camera at me.

Of course, too much studying makes one goes a little crazy so well, Darren, being crazy enough as he is already, started doing crazier things.

3 guys came into the tutorial room to repais some faulty lights and they stepped out for a while to get some equipments. Wasting no time, Darren climbed onto the ladder and started making an ass of himself. The looks of those guys when they came back into the room n saw him up there was PRICELESS!

Having blood rushing to your head makes it easier for facts to be absorbed into the brain when studying. =p

It took us almost 10 tries before we managed to get this sequence right. Fun for me, tiring for him. Muahahahahahaha...

Submitted my last assignment of the semester yesterday and it was the toughest one to date!

Spend the whole week doing research on the literature review and I still had problems getting it completed.

Regardless, it's all over now and all that's left is a 3 hours exam on Friday.

Haven been doing much since my last post except go to school, do assignment, sleep (or not), go to school, do assignment...you get the drift.

Been hanging out with darren & chun quite abit too...lunch, dinner and the occasional supper. Meal times with them are alwaz great fun. Can't stop laughing at their lame jokes whenever I m out with those 2 idiots. :p

Daddy's birthday was on Monday and my guy's birthday was yesterday so I had been out the past 2 nights celebrating too. Caught "Materials Girls" courtesy of Cleo Magazine with my guy last night but the show sucks. No plot, sub standard acting...at least there was a guy on the show who is pretty cute. Hee!

1 more major assignment and an exam to go and the semester will be over! Can't wait! Woo hoo!

What a Week! (Pt 2)

As expected, I totally didn't hear the alarm go off at 8am, 8.05am AND 8.10am. Yes! I set 3 alarms at 5 mins interval and I slept thru them ALL! In the end, I woke up at 9am (and the riding session was supposed to START at 9am!) and drove like a crazy woman all the way down to Punggol (120km/hr all the way along SLE and TPE praying that there are no traffic police around!).

Surprisingly, riding session was great and I managed to land my toe side 1 wake! On my 1st attempt too!

Lunch session with my teammates at Hougang to eat my favourite "bak chor mee" after riding before heading over to my grandma's place to pay her a visit since I was around the area.

I was desperately trying to fight the ZZZ monster thoughout the day though I did succumbed to a half hr nap on the sofa while watching TV at my granny's place. Dad send me back to the hall at around 9-ish instead of the usual Monday morning rides as he had to be at work by 5am the next day. I wanted to sleep early but with the laundry in all, ended up sleeping at almost 2am again.

And now that a new week has began, it's time to start mugging again before I have even recovered from last week. Oh No!!!

What a Week! (Pt 1)

*Totally drowned by assignments for the past two weeks thus this post is officially late by a 2 whole blardy weeks even though I wrote it almost immediately after the events . Also, stupid Blogger keeps refusing to let me upload photos...and it jammed up again after like 8 photos or so but I had more to post so I had to split the post into 2. Fyuck. Post had been backdated so that I can remember exactly when it happened 10year down the road. =p *

Oh boy...this has got to be the most tiring week ever for me!

1st, I was having problems with my Psychology assignment...even though I started working on it on Monday, it was so difficult that I had to work THROUGH the night on Thursday before finally completing it at 10.30am, Friday morning.

TIRED CAN!

The worst thing was...I couldn't go to bed after that as I had already promised my bestie to go shopping with her and we were supposed to meet at 12 noon in town. So what to do? I rushed a cab home after handing in my assignment, dropped off all my barangs barangs, and rushed a cab down to Heeren. Total cab fare? $33.20 though the taxi uncle gave me a discount and charged me only $32. He even stopped the meter while waiting for me to drop off my stuff at home! :)

Heeren was a disappointment this time round (as compared to last Friday), probably because I have gotten everything I wanted then. Next stop was Far East Plaza and we walked all the way there after having a heavy lunch at Billy Bombers. I didn't managed to get anything at Far East too as the only dress that caught my attention was sold out. Sighz.

At around 5.30pm, we headed over to Wisma to start our last leg of shopping spree (well, it was a spree for my bestie) and it was off to Din Tai Fung for dinner at around 7-ish when our respective guys joined us in town.

At the end of the day, I got hme almost midnite and ended up with only a bottle of Vaseline which I got from Watsons, a tube of face mask and a bottle of nail polish from SaSa, and a pair of fake lashies from some Korean Make-up Shop (suddenly cannot remember the name) after spending almost 12hrs shopping in town.

Oh yes! Now...my bestie had been talking about getting a 2nd piercing in her ear the whole day but she was swaying between "I so wanna get it" and "But I am scared of the pain!" and so being the BESTIE I am, I helped her decide and "dragged" her to the shop to get it done! :p Here are the pictures!

uncle's wedding. That's only 5hrs+ of sleep after being awake for 39hrs can! Was damn stoned the whole day, right up till the min I got hme from the wedding dinner and hit the sack at almost 3am and I had to wake up at 8am on Sunday morning for my team riding session!

Yesterday was a day of pure shopping shopping & more shopping! Woot!

Started off the day by picking my guy up from the train station n we drove down to Heeren for some CLEO shop-a-thon.

Initially I was kinda contemplating if I should drive down to town on a Saturday and I am glad I did! Traffic along the CTE was surprisingly clear and it wasn't long before I found a parking lot at Cairnhill Plaza (it's just behind Heeren).

1st stop at Heeren was "Eyeplay" where I got myself a new pair of Adidas Sunnie. Damn Cool looking la! Got a good deal too cos there was a 40% disc voucher for the sunnies in Nov Cleo's Magazine. In the end, I only paid abt $100 for it (original px was $168).

Next stop was a bag shop where I got myself a pink casual "Le Coq Sportif" tote bag. There was also a disc voucher for the bag & instead of $59, I ended up paying only $25 for it. SO happy! *Dance around in Joy*

Wanted to get a couple of tops and dresses at Heeren too but I couldn't find anything that I like. =( In the end, I had a free makeover done up, also courtesy of CLEO, and we had an early dinner at NYDC before driving over to the newest shopping paradise in Singapore, Vivocity!

Didn't managed to get anything there as the few items that caught my eye were way too expensive, but I must say that Vivocity has a few interesting shops that is not found in the other shopping malls in Singapore. I would probably wanna head there again when I go for my 2nd shopping spree with my bestie on Friday.

One shop that is worth mentioning though is GAP! I totally *heart* the jeans there! Super Soft, the cutting is nice, and they have it in DARK INDIGO BLUE!!! As compared to the prices in the States, it is not very much more expensive too...it's $79 for a pair of bootcut originals here while it is US$49.50 or SGD$75 in the States. No more Levis for me! *Bleah*

Ended the day with getting some toiletries n munchies from Watsons and a long drive back home to Sembawang.

I m so gonna do this again. :p

Damn haze...had been having perfect complexion for the past couple of weeks, even with the irregular sleeping time n all but the min the haze comes along, so does my pimples. =(

Not to mention the irritable throat n slightly runny nose.

Thank goodness my immune system seems to be pretty good this time round n I have managed to fight it off till now, and even so, it is nothing serious.

- English test on 17 Nov (and it's freaking 60% weightage!!!)

Less than 1 more mth to struggle thru and the semester is finally over!!!

Sometimes, other riders would join us and it's DAMN FUN LA cos they are super crazy people...but If I get any fatter it's all their fault (though I had been quite disciplined. Most of the time I only drink milo peng while they gorge themselves. =p)

oh...Darren can eat man!!! Every single time we go for supper, he orders at least 6 egg pratas with a can of Coke! Sometimes 7. -_-"

The best part is, he is damn fit n lean...maybe cos he is a tri-athlete. *damn envious*

Well, yesterday I bumped into another dear friend of mine, Herbert, whom I was pretty close to when we were in college.

2 Sundays ago, my guy "ganged up" with the rest of the zoo gang and threw me a surprise belated birthday dinner...and boy was I surprised! This was what happened...(as far as I can remember lah!)

About a week or so ago

Guy: Dear ah, Sunday WL & the rest are meeting up for dinner hor. 6pm at Wheelock Place. WL is leaving for taiwan on Monday and Sunday seems to be the only day all of them are free.

Me: But like tt means I will be missing muay thai leh. Nevermind lah, you go for dinner with them by yourself.

Guy: Cannot! It is also supposed to be a birthday celebration for you mah.

Me: (not sensing anything fishy) Sighz...ok lah then I go for muay thai on Friday.

Sunday, at Wheelock Place, NYDC

Me: Eh how come I cannot see them? (saw the zoo gang) EH! How come Jo they all are here at NYDC too leh? Waileng and Mark? Xinyi and Jingwei are here too!

Guy: Ya lor...

Me: I tot we are meeting WL they all? *glares at him*

Guy: Heehee...Not my fault! They want it be a surprise mah. *sheepish grin*

And the best part?

Husni, another close friend of mine from college whom I have not seens in eons too, (and he knows Herbert! ALL 3 of us were OGLs (Orientiation Group Leaders) in the same OG back in college) was the supervisor on duty at NYDC tt day, and knowing that it was my birthday celebration, he brought over a slice of brownie with a candle on it, and an additional slice of mango ice-cream cake, on the house!

Needless to say, that birthday dinner is now ranked as one of the best birthday celebration I ever had with my friends. =)

I love this group photo! The four (five actually including our WBA rep) decided that the color theme of the day was gonna be blue top and black bottoms. Unfortunately, Miss Li Xiang forgot and arrived in a pink top. -_-"

This was taken from another boat while we were riding. Li Xiang is putting on the bindings and to get ready to ride.

This was the group photo that was taken...well sorta group photo cos by the time they made an announcement for us to gather round, quite a few gals left already. In total, there were supposed to be 110 girls riding. I can barely count 50 here.

Last but not last, this photo was taken on the tige during the June Wakecamp. Our instructor, Kenny from Substance Watersports, is the cute guy on the right. It was a sheer test of endurance and skill riding from 9am to 6pm. Can die I tell you!

I had always thought that my blog was kinda private.

I had also always thought that only 2 people (my turtle friend and my guy) know about the existence of my blog and read it regularly.

I mean, sure, it is a place for me to write my thoughts and feelings, and of course, to record down the milestones in my life.

It is also a place where my very dear turtle friend in NZ will turn to everytime he wants an update of my life but am unable to catch me online on MSN (the fact that NZ is 5hrs ahead of Singapore doesn't help very much either!).

However, recently, I realised that my blog is not as private as I thought it would be. A couple of weeks ago, my wakeboarding instructor told me that he knew about my blog. More recently, or rather, yesterday to be precise, I bumped into a friend whom I have lost contact with sometime back at NTU and he told me that he reads my blog too.

Look like I better start to watch what I say in my blog...you never know who is reading!

In the afternoon, when I was ta pao-ing lunch from my hall canteen, I met a friend there and she told me that she is working in NTU.

Later in the evening, when I was going back to hall after classes, I bumped into the guy who I mentioned earlier and he was working in NIE.

I never knew that I have so many friends working in NTU/NIE.

Remember that I was complaining a few posts back about how uni and hall life being more boring that I had thought it would be?

Well, looks like things are gonna change in a hurry!

Sports Trials for Inter-Hall Games are starting this week and I will be going for badminton, netball and softball trials.

In fact, I have been "arrowed" for the softball batter position since going for the softball "game" 2 weeks ago.

Badminton would just be for fun...wouldn't be too upset if I don't get into the team cos I know where my standard lies.

Netball would be good though. It's been a long time since I last played a proper netball game and I am looking forward to it.

There is also a recruitment going on to select players for the NTU Inter-School games. Badminton is out for this competition...too many good players for me to even consider going for the trials but I am considering going for the Netball trials for this too. Oh, and bowling too of course.

I wonder if I would be stretching myself too thin by taking part in so many events.

Not to mention that I have been selected to be a team rider in the NTU Wakeboard Club and will be representing NTU in the IVP league next June. This means that I have to start training seriously too.

Decisions...decisions...but I can now see that my NIE life would be very fulfilling as compared to how it was like 1 month ago.

So fast leh...another year has passed. It seems like just a couple of months ago when I celebrated my 25th birthday out at "sea" with my darling, my wakeboarding instructor Edward, and his birthday present to me, Mr Suter.

Not much celebration for me this year as I am busy juggling between assignments, dating and hall activities (though not much in that expect yet). My daddy will be coming to pick me up tomorrow evening and we will join my mummy and brother for dinner at IMM, before they send me back to hall again.

My guy is not gonna be around to celebrate my birthday with me this year though...he was posted to London for training last Sunday and will be there for 2 weeks. He did send me an email yesterday for our 3rd year anniversary though and he send me an sms couple of minutes ago to wish me Happy Birthday too. :) I am gonna make sure he gives me lots n lots of presents from London to make up on missing out 2 of the most important dates in our lifes man...*evil grinz*

As for the zoo family...hmm...I wonder if they are free to meet up for dinner over the weekend. Oh well...

Anyway, it is another 4 more years before I hit the big 3 but for the time being, I am pretty happy with my life and so will just sit back, relax, and be contented (at least for today).

I did not really wanted to blog about him as I am sure that millions of people have already done so.

However, the 4 years that I was in Melbourne, his highly entertaining documentaries had keep me amused and provided wonderful company when I was feeling bored.

Though some of his antics may not exactly be the smartest or best thing to do, I feel that since the guy is dead, we should spare a thought for his family and loved ones and keep all criticisms, if any, to ourselves.

Sides, he really did alot to help in wildife conservation and that is one undeniable fact.

Steve Irwin...you will be missed.

After staying in Hall 3 for almost a month...

I finally got to know my neighbours better.

The most ironic thing was, it all started right after my previous entry when we were called to the hall lounge to nominate someone to be our level representative.

Well...I m still having dinner alone in my room (my neighbours eat cup noodles almost everyday! -_-) but at least when we see each other along the corridor, we will say hi and chit chat a little.

I have also made a few new friends from the NTU wakeboard club & I try to join them for trainings (on Thursday and Friday) & the dinner gathering at hall 16's canteen every Tuesday.

Oh and the most impt thing is, I managed to install Warcraft into my lappy (with the help of one of my new hall friends)!

Ah well...at least hall life is not so boring now. =)

Looking forward to Sunday for the Oakley All Girls Wakeboard Day. I promise heaps of pictures as SOMEONE or rather SOME TURTLE *ahem* complained that my blog is getting boring with no picture!

Ok...didn't want to ruin the other happy post so I am gonna start a new one just to rant a little.

Went to The Butter Factory with another friend last Thurs for my hall's pageant preview and just came back about an hour ago from my hall's friendship cum JCRC night.

Frankly, I was bored to tears.

Somehow, I dun think I will have any close friends in hall. Maybe it is because they are so much younger than me. Maybe it is because I used to organise events myself so their events seem really childish lame. Maybe it is just me.

Oh well...looks like I am destined to spend more time having dinner alone in my hall room then.

At least I joined a couple of CCAs so that should make my NTU/NIE life a little more interesting and meaningful.

Not what I had Imagined It To Be

Am blogging now from my hall room while I wait for my dad to pick me up to go home for National Day.

Last week was the first week of school, and everything is pretty ok, with the exception of long days on Monday (8.30am to 5.30pm) , Wednesday (8.30am to 5.30pm though I have a 3hrs break inbetween) and Thursday (8.30am to 7.30pm!!).

However, hall life is very different from what I had expected it to be. The people are not exactly very friendly (at least those on my levels...what is it with these little girls?) and even though I tried to smile at them when our paths crossed, I was totally ignored or they just look away. WTH?

I will be attending my hall's bash at The Butter Factory on Thursday night (10 Aug), the hall's friendship night next Monday (14 Aug), and I have submitted my name for Netball for our Inter-block games.

Lets see how it goes after that.

Student once again

It has been a busy, busy week.

This week is officially my 1st week of school (last week was orientiation & loads of boring but essential briefing) and so far, I am enjoying it.

Food is cheap and yummy too.

Not only that, but I moved into hall yesterday morning so now, I only need to walk up at 7.30 for my 8.30am classes as school is only a 5mins walk away. =)

Things are getting very boring here though as I am stuck in NTU most of the time and there is nothing much for me to do.

Maybe it is time to mingle around and make more friends.

Nevermind, it has only been 2 days. I am sure things will be lively soon. =)

Oh yes, I bought a new lappy too and now I am super broke. =(

The good news and the bad...

7th month is here once again. Doesn't really affect me much except that I have been banned from all water activities (except bathing of cos!) till it's over. 1 month is bad enough but it has to be double the trouble this year with 7th month coming around TWICE!

Sighz...that means no swimming or wakeboarding for 2 whole months.

I is not happy. =(

Note of caution though...please try not to stay out too late these 2 months, watch where you are going, and last but not least, mind your words.

On another note, after weeks of emailing and waiting, my appeal into Hall 3 had finally been approved and I will be able to collect my keys after lectures tomorrow. Just in time too as classes will officially start next Monday and I do not wish to travel back and forth Sembawang and NTU everyday.

Honestly, I felt that I had been the one doing all the emailing and appeals and calls for this whole issue but nevermind lah, I myself didn't want to stay in Hall 1 anyway.

Time to get busy!

Racial Harmony Day

1 more day and I will be bidding farewell to all my colleagues and kids in SiLing Primary and I am experiencing comflicting emotions at the moment. On one hand, I am extremely excited on the thought of embarking on a new chapter of my life. No more shouting and screaming at the kids every single day, no more marking of endless books, worksheets, tests, exams... On the other hand, I am going to miss them so much. =(

On a lighter note, I brought my kids to the fish farm last Thursday. Overall, they had lots of fun looking at fishes and turtles, (thank goodness it did not rain! Was so worried as it had rained on Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday) and of course, they were very happy that they could bring home a pet fish each.

Pri 2K, my new form class. We were at Qian Hu Fish Farm for our Social Studies Learning Journey Trip.

Took a few more photos with them and 2D today too as our school celebrated Racial Harmony Day and the kids were encouraged to come to school in ethnic costumes today. So bright and colorful!

No Relaxing For You!

Sheesh...

After working thru my nose for 3 weeks, I though I would take a break on Thurs and went for a nice, relaxing massage with my mum.

Body scrub, hot shower and followed by 45mins of body massage. Heavenly!

Then, then, then...I woke up on Friday morning sneezing and with a nose imitating a leaky tap.

WHAT THE HELL!

It is just like some higher being dropping me a hint that I am not allowed to enjoy myself till I go to NIE or something.

Luckily I drowned myself in lots of fluid on Friday (3 litres in school to be exact!) and I woke up on Saturday feeling loads better. A big mug of Honey + lemon drink, fruits, and more water ensured that I woke up feeling good enough to go for Muay Thai today.

At least my cold only lasted 1 day this time round.

Had a 4 hours wakeboarding session on Saturday afternoon.

Went for my usual 3 hours Muay Thai class on Sunday.

Was in school catching up on my marking and handling my CCA till 5+pm on Monday, and went back to school again in the evening from 7-ish till abt 9-ish for a game of badminton with my colleagues.

Had another 2 hours Muay Thai Class on Tuesday Night.

Stayed back in school till almost 6pm for marking again.

Bringing my kids to Qian Hu Fish Farm for an excursion tomorrow, and I have to accompany the Pri. 4 kids for their CIP till about 4pm.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so looking forward to NIE starting in less than 2 weeks time.

School had started for a week now and my workload has effectively doubled.

While the other 3 teachers who will also be heading to NIE in July has been relieved of their form classes and am only taking relief duties now (which means no marking, no admin work, etc), not only have I been assigned as a form teacher to a better Pri 2 class, BUT I also need to double up as a buddy cum mentor to the new gal who took over my former class.

I know that it will look damn good on my portfolio, handling so many duties and responsibilities, but it is also physically very draining and tiring. Good news is that my new form class is very well-behaved so I don't really have any problems with them. Bad news is, they are so smart that they finish up their work very quickly and they REQUEST for more homework. And we all know that more homework = more marking for the teacher.

Sheesh...and I thought I will be able to go home before 3pm everyday for the next one month. How wrong I was! I have not left the school any earlier than 5pm the past 1 week since school reopened!

I am so looking forward to NIE.

Finally managed to upload some of the photos that I took in Jakarta & Bandung but after uploading about 10 pictures, blogger seems to be protesting that it is doing too much work in too short a time, AGAIN, so I will have to continue with part 2 another day.

ON THE PLANE

When we were waiting for our turn to check in, the airport officers told us to head over to the business class counter where we were told that we were upgraded to the business class as the flight was overbooked, FOR FREE! I tell you...I was the happiest gal in the whole airport then . Too bad the flight was only 1.5hrs. Hee. *grinz*

Controls for the chair. It is fully automated and you can either choose 1 of the 3 pre-set options (sitting upright, half recline, or bed) or customise ur own chair angle using those 4 funny looking buttons. The chair can even give you a massage!

Our meal of the day. On the way back from Singapore, the economy class was served only a cold sandwich with a muffin. Here in the business class, we had a piping hot and delicious seafood noodle set and there was a table cloth spread over an extra large table. Shortly after meals, the waitress even came around to ask if anyone wanted extra buns.

And of cos, last but not least, here are 2 very happy people taking photos on board the plane. =)

JAKARTA (1 OF 2)

A typical Indonesian breakfast in Jakarta, Bak Mee, which is noodles with some cubed chicken, some char siew and vege.

Another common dish in Indonesia, Panpek (not too sure about the spelling). It's like fishcake, though not as chewy and you are supposed to dunk it into that brown sauce before eating. The yellow thingy in middle of the fishcake is egg yolk.

Mobile roadside stall outside my guy's house. I never dare to try this cos I dun wanna end up sitting in the toilet for the rest of the day. This particular stall is selling Nasi Goreng (Malay Fried Rice). The lady in beige is my "sister-in-law" and she is waiting for her dinner.

A very interesting thing to note in Indonesia...ALL the Honda Jazz have had the dot above the "J" stolen. According to the story from my guy, it was because some idiot spread a rumor that the dot was made from white gold and that sparked a crazy vandalism spree. Whatever it is, I am glad that is not my car.

Heehee...this is a photo of my guy when he was just a little baby. He look so fat, so cute and soooooo BLUR! Haha. =p

Ok, I will try to continue the rest of the pictures for the Jakarta trip by this week (still have a couple of photos that I took with my "niece" (my guy's brother's daughter), my cousins during my trip up to Bandung, and of course, Molly, the closest thing I had to a pet dog. Ta~Ta~...

C.A.N.N.O.T M.O.V.E

Came back from Bintan last Saturday and was it a total relaxing holiday or what! Did nothing for 3 glorious day except to laze by the pool or the beach, with the occasional activity like some beach volleyball, jet skiing (heaps fun!) and snorkelling...and of cos, not forgetting to pig out!!! Muhahahahha...

However, things are totally different now that I am back in Singapore man! Had Muay Thai on Sunday and my instructor nearly killed us! I did 100+ push ups, 60 v-sit ups (where you have to lift ur legs and do crunches at the SAME TIME), skipped for abt 10mins and that was on top of our regular punches and kicks. Then, I had to wake up at 6+am to head down to NIE to do some registration yesterday, had a wakeboarding camp from 11.30am to 7pm today (and my whole body is aching now!), have to go down to NIE again tomorrow morning for some talks, followed by the lawyer's office in the afternoon to settle our house stuff, and I have to head down to school on Thursday to clear my table for the new teacher to take over.

Speaking of a packed schedule! And school is starting next Monday too. Sighz...there goes my freedom and sleep-ins once again.

Back...& Getting Fat

Hello Everyone!!! I am back from the land of "I dun understand what the hell everyone is talking about" Jakarta. Heehee...

Did heaps of shopping the week I was there, and went up to Bandung for 3 days 2 nites to visit some relatives of mine...and to do more shopping of cos! =p

Was totally stuffed while I was there too...Thai food, Chinese food, Jap food, Korean food, Indonesian food...I have not eaten so much in such a short time for quite a while now.

And then, just as I was looking forward to going back to Muay Thai to start working off the excess pounds that I piled on, it was CANCELLED!!! Not only once, but twice!!! Got back on Saturday nite, and I received last minute smses from my instructor to say that BOTH Sunday & Tuesday class had to be cancelled...BOO! =( Then, I decided to go swimming today since there will be no MT and guess wat? IT STARTED RAINING!!! Wat The... *Grrrrrrr*

Anyway I have heaps of photos to post but stupid blogger is giving me problems again (like the Mongolia post) so I am gonna start a new post for the pictures instead. Enjoy!

P.S I will be going away again this Thurs with my bestie, 3days 2nights in Bintan Lagoon Resort for some R&R and I wanna try out their watersports! Woo Hoo! *Pray for Good Weather*

Hello Everyone!!!

I am now in the land of "I don't understand what the hell everyone is talking about" Jakarta.

Will be here for a week (starting yesterday actually) and I get this strange feeling that I am so gonna get fat here.

My guy's parents (yes, in case you don't already know, he is indonesian chinese) brought me to a thai restaurant last nite after picking us up from the airport, we went to a chinese restaurant for dim sum lunch this afternoon, and I just had a wonderful IndoMee dinner at one of those roadside stall. Yummy!

Think I better go crazy on muay thai when I am back in Singapore (Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday...That should take care of the fats!) But then again, I might be heading over to the land of a thousand smiles (Bangkok) next weekend with my bestest and oldest friend for some shopping...so...we shall see. =p

Having the time of my life now, and it all started with the flight over to Jakarta yesterday when we got upgraded to the BUSINESS CLASS for free! Muhahahahaha. Best flight ever. Now I am hooked. =p *evil grinz*

Ok...photos when I am back in Singapore cos now I am at my guy's brother's internet cafe (no net access at home) and I am dying from smoke too.

Mission DaVinci Code

It's been a while since I have watched a movie, the last being "Eight Below" about a month ago, and with the recent release of a few "hot" movies, me and my guy decided to spend our weekends in a big, dark room munching on chips and popcorn.

Mission Impossible 3 was...well...I cannot compare it with part 1 and 2 as I have never watch them! Tom Cruise don't really appeal to me (too old lah!) and I never really like fighting "wham bam" kind of movie. Then again, the movie tickets were free so no complains on my part there! =p

I did enjoy the movie though there was no much story to it except for all the fighting (still feel that Cruise is old...do you know that my uncle calls him "Ai Dong Gua" which literally translates into "short melon"...Wahahahahhahaha!!!) And wat the hell...can someone tell me what is the rabbitfoot!!!

Anyway, don't think I will wanna catch MI 4 if there is one, unless I get free tickets again but I will give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The other movie we caught was "The DaVinci Code", a screenplay adapted from the novel by Dan Brown.

Frankly, I felt that the book was better. The movie felt out way too much details and even the ending was changed! Then again, if the director was to include everything in the book, the movie will probably end up 4 hours long.

Heard that they will be also be filming "Angels and Demons" so hopefully that movie will be much better.

Overall rating...3.5 out of 5 stars.

Last Day

Tomorrow...or rather today, will be the last day of semester 1.

It will also most probably mean that it will be my last day with my babies of Pri 2D 2006 as their form teacher.

Though I will be back in Si Ling for another month when school reopens in late June, things are gonna be different (unless they are not able to get another teacher to take over my class, but chances are slim...)

Even though they had been very naughty, even though they made me so angry that I walked out of my classroom once, even though they did very badly in their SA 1 exams...they are still my darlings and I am so gonna miss them terribly.

See you all kiddos...I will try to come back to visit as often as I can.

One More Milestone, One Very Empty Pocket

On Sunday, I made one of the biggest and most expensive decision of my life!

Er...no I am not getting married...yet

But I bought a apartment!!! Together with my guy of cos! *grinz*

Altogether, we are paying abt $515k for a 3 bedroom apartment. Not the cheapest deal in town but after being to so many showflats, I fell in love with the place almost immediately and made the decision to purchase almost the next day.

Wanted to get the 3 + 1 apartment initially (with a better view of the pool) but due to some fengshui thingy, in the end, we got the 3 instead and though the view of the pool wun be as great (corner view only) but it's about $60k cheaper and we will be higher up on the 11th floor instead of the initial 8th.

The only thing left to do now is to wait to get our keys in 2008 and in the meantime, see our bank account shrink!

But I am one HAPPY gal. =D

This is a beri strong bug!!!

It's been almost a my week and I am still sick (runny nose, flamy cough...the works) though my voice is more or less back, though still very nasal. Well, at least I can scream at my kids now.

Mummy is also down with a bad throat and she sounds like Donald Duck on Helium. *har har har*

M.U.S.T. F.I.G.H.T. B.U.G...

On the other hand, Muay Thai on Sunday and last night was good. All the perspiration and guzzling down of water helped in clearing my nose heaps. Now, if only I have something to do on Thursday to burn off the excess energy between Tuesday and Sunday's Muay Thai. I wonder if they still have hip hop classes...hmmmm...

It's also been a while since I last wakeboarded, the last being the day I busted my knee on my new board while attempting a 2 wake jump. Got phobia leh...HOW???

Perhaps I shall try to attempt wakeboarding again during the school holidays. Must start again soon.

Oh yes, personal milestone to record down. I did 239 push-ups during Muay Thai last nite...in 2 minutes. 119 in the 1st minute before we started our training, and 120 after 1.5 hours of training. Me is so proud of myself, especially since I was doing only about 80 per set about 3 weeks ago. *muhahahahahahahaha*

It's BACK!!!!

And it's nothing great...I am sick again lah. Fuck!!! Luckily, exams are next week so I can still go home early to rest after school these few days. Once the papers start, I will have to stay back for common marking till 5-ish or so everyday. BORING!

Went straight home after the weekly contact time today to rest. Fell asleep the min I got home, all the way till abt 5.30pm, a quick change up and it was off to Plaza Singapura to catch "8 under" with my guy and my bestie Jo, a.k.a Eight legs.

Basically, the show is about a guy, his 8 huskys - Maya, Max, Old Jack, Buck, Shorty, Dewey, Shadow, and Truman, and an amazing story of love and survival (for the dogs of cos). Being the softie I am, I wept bukcets at this show, especially whenever a dog died (2 of them did...so sad!!!). The dogs were totally adorable can!!! Ok I better stop gushing before I start sounding like some bimbo, but go catch it if you have the time!

Anyway, feeling really bored so decided to do some weird and lame quiz thingy that eight-legs send via email.

Er...er...

I know it has been almost a month since I last updated my blog but no choice...I got kidnapped by my kids and the school ever since school reopened in late March.

There will be a "grandmother of backlog" entry coming soon so stay tune!!!

In the meantime, I am officially starting NIE on 19 June (so last day of service in school is on the 18th) though I will still be back for another month for a "Enhanced School Learning Experience" -__-"

Sounds pretty crap to be, especially since I have been teaching since last yr, and for that month, I won't be taking back my form class too, unless the school is short of teachers.

Sighz...regardless of how irritating they had been and how angry they had made me over the past 4 months, I am so gonna miss them.

A long long time ago, I got bored and I started blog surfing when I came across a website called JustDate. Having absolutely nothing to do, I went to sign up and had this little profile thingy filled up.

Fast forward to the present.

It's been a while since I last logged onto the site, partly because I have been very busy, and also because I have totally lost interest in that site. However, I have been very very bored (AGAIN) cause it's the school holidays but with a bust-up knee, there is nothing very much I can do except to go shopping...and there is only so much shopping a gal can take in Singapore as everything looks the same after the 7th shop.

So, I did the next most interesting thing and that is to surf the internet (I know that is like NOT interesting but DUHZ...I have NOTHING ELSE TO DO!)

When I finally logged onto JustDate again after so many months, naturally my mailbox there was pretty flooeded but one particular message caught my attention.

He said, "hi, you seem to be very cocky... but anyway my name is darren ,waan try... or take that chance you mention pretty open-minded..."

Me? Cocky? I have never been called that before!!! SO...being totally pissed off and intrigued, I check out his profile and this was what I replied back to him 5 minutes later.

The one and only (so far) time that I've been to Mongolia was back in August 2004. when I was still working in Singapore Recreation Club as a Sports & Recreation Executive. Then, my job was to bring a couple of members there to have the adventure of a lifetime, and of course, at the same time to enjoy myself.

Now...noone spends 2 whole weeks of living in the dessert, cooking over campfires, and showering in freezing cold water with 10 other people, without forging life long friendships, even if you don't get meet up with them ever again. I was no exception.

We had a couple of Mongolian guides assigned to us for the 2 weeks that we were there (to ensure that everything would run smoothly, that noone got lost, and so on), and of which, I became pretty close to 2 of them, namely Muno and Oichi. They were lots of fun to be with and they even taught me how to curse n swear in Mongolian! Haha *grinz*

Last weekend, Muno came over to Singapore for a visit and also to work with a friend, Poh Joo, to promote Mongolia to Singaporeans. They had a ger tent set up at the pavillion in MacRitchie Reservior with lots of beautiful pictures of the scenery of Mongolia.

I spent 2 wonderful hours catching up with Muno and reminiscing about the fun and wonderful 2 weeks we had spend 1+yrs ago. Muno also informed us that he is now a proud father of a beautiful girl named Michelle who will be turning 1 this coming April. Congrats Muno!

Woohoo...

Got my pretty new wakeboard on Thursday and took it out for a ride.

Pops were bigger, landings were softer, and the trackings when I edge were fantastic!!!!

However... I was into my 2nd set when the terrible part starts.

Edged out REAL far to set up for a 2 wake jump. My instructor was kinda pushing me hard to clear the 2 wakes n told me to dig my heels in and edge in towards the wake.

Pop was fucking explosive and I went real high! Unfortunately, the phrase "the higher you jump, the harder you fall" proved to be very accurate in my case, and when I landed, my board slipped out from under me in one direction while my knees went in the other direction.

I could literally hear my knees went CRRRRACKKKK.... as I sink into the sea.

Sighz...in the end, I missed the last day of school on Friday, missed my last kickboxing lesson yesterday, will have to miss Muay Thai on Tues as I dun think I would fully recover in time, and more importantly, my 2 days of wake camp on Thurs and Friday will have to go down the drain as well.

Though I HAVE to thank my lucky stars that I most probably didn't tear anything and that it was just a sprain as swelling was minimal and after only two day, I am almost walking normally already.

Manicure lah! What else were you expecting huh? *Tsk tsk tsk* =p

Met up with Jo the octopus for shopping + dinner + movie today and we had time to kill so we decided to go for an express manicure ($10). One thing led to another and soon I was requsting for a full mani @ $23 (but then again, my hands were in terrible condition and sorely needed a full mani pronto!) and from there, I thought I would give french mani a try since it was only $2 more.

It's nice as compared to the usual "paint your nails in pink or red" type of manicure cos it made my nails look so neat and professional. However, my nails look SOOOO natural that I feel kinda cheated of my $25. LOL. I dunno...maybe I will do it again in future if I feel like just being me but if it's for a party party glam glam affair, I think I will still opt for my dark red nails. *grinz*

Anywayz...before our manicure, me and eight legs were shopping around Plaza Sing and I managed to get a top from Esprit for only $24.95...HALF PRICE! It's a really nice top though I will need to wear it with a tube cos it is REALLY low cut.

The actual color is more of maroon rather than blackish watever...

After a delicious dinner of Ayam Pengang from PS food court (MUST TRY!!!), it was off to the movies. Choice of the day was Final Destination 3. Well...what can I say. For a movie, it is good. But after watching FD 1 & 2, the storyline became very predictable so instead of being all jumpy and scared, I was more grossed out by the gruesome ways the kids died in the show. You know...all the brain matter splattering out, guts all over the place, blood in your face...that kind of scene. Still...worth my $7.00 I suppose.

Now, before we went to the movies, eight legs and I passed by "The Little Match Girl" shop and they were having a massive sale. Being the girls we are, plus the fact that LMG has always been one of our favourite shops, we rushed there after the movie, hoping to at least secure a bargain or two and BOY were we lucky. The salesgirl started to roll the shutters down the SECOND we stepped into the shop. LOL. In the end, I got a pretty greyish skirt for only $15 (original price was $49) and Jo got a shirt + skirt (same one as I did except hers is pink). I am sorely tempted to go back tomorrow but I dun think I have the time. Hmmm...still contemplating...

Oh well...gals will always be gals. When there is a sale, there will always be US!

OH...By the way, both myself and my guy are taking Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) lessons every Tuesday now. It's fun...and I am hooked. Bought our boxing gloves last week and our instructor is getting the wraps for us. Now lets see how long the interest will last. Kekekekeke...

I think Singapore girls are soooooo DUMB. Walking around orchard road with a bouquet of over priced roses very "seh bin" (proud) meh? A stalk of rose which usually cost less than $1.00 will cost 10 times more today. I told my guy I rather take the money and splurge on an expensive meal or him getting me a diamond pendant, etc instead. Diamonds will last forever u know? Your bouquet of roses will die in a week's time n there goes your hundred bucks.

So me n my guy did the smart thing...we celebrated v-day yesterday instead!

Went to Big O at Wheelock Place for dinner last nite (and I can use my 1-for-1 voucher for their set meal because it is NOT v-day...2 of us had a soup, drink & a main course EACH and the total bill only came up to $27...Muahhahahaha) then took a walk along Orchard. Saw many ppl selling roses already n my guy turned ard to tell me "Next year we oso sell roses on v-day. Still spending it together with you but we get to earn lots of money. Then we'll celebrate n splurge on an expensive meal the next day."

Wahahahhaa...I so totally agree lor.

Anyway, I personally feel that v-day is all about spending quality time together with your loved ones and not parading around town with your ridiculously expensive flowers & eating low quality v-day set meals.

So...we r going for muay aerobox (muay thai + aerobics + kickboxing) classes.

Time to kick some ass and to work towards a healthier body (not forgetting wallet & relationship) together.

A Walk In The Park

Went to Sungei Beloh yesterday with the a.m session teachers yesterday for a Science cum Maths Trail.

It was low tide n the whole place stinks cos many fishes did not managed to escape in time n were "drowned" when the tide subsided.

Saw many interesting things such as mubskippers, really small crabs tt remind me of spiders, a HUGE arowana, a HUGE lou han, a big-ass malayan monitor lizard (why are the creatures there ALL so big???), herons, ingrets, kingfishers...

Took a few photos but nothing interesting. Will try to post them up if I have the time.

On the other hand...I met up with the animal gang on Monday for dinner. Heaps of fun n dumb jokes (what's new) n lots of funny photos were taken.

But that...will be another post altogether. =)

Oh...n of cos, my CNY post which I hope will be coming rite up too. *fingers crossed*

The worse thing was, I haven used it in quite a while n as I was gonna do quite abit of driving yesterday, I took it out to charge for abt an hour before heading to the airport to meet up with my dear roomie who was transiting in Singapore for abt 5hrs before heading back to NZ. It would be another year (at least) before I could meet up with him again.

AND I LOST IT WITHIN 2HOURS AT TAMPINES MALL!!!

What The Fuck...

Just as I was thinking that the curse is broken...I fell sick again last nite.

My monsters this year is like 100% naughtier than last year! Though there are only 30 of them now (20 boys & 10 girls. HOW COME? It was supposed to be a balanced ratio. Poor me *Bawls*), they are so much harder to control n teach as compared to my 40 babies last year.

Man...looks like this is gonna be a tough semester for me. Just 2weeks + into the new school term & I am down for the 2nd time already.

I used to be able to remain illness free for a whole year. What is happening to me? *Sighz*

On a side note, last weekend was great! My dearest turtlish roomie came over to Singapore for a week. Besides meeting up with him (& my other buddies who were also at the chalet) and introducing them to the wonderful world of wakeboarding (though it rained almost the whole 5 hours we were there), I popped by for a 3days 2 nights stay with them on Friday. Only managed to crawl into bed at 5am on BOTH nights but it was great fun.

Ok my brain is telling me to hit the sack soon so here is a few photos to round up this entry.

Yay! 1st post for 2006!

Ow Ow Ow Ow Owwww...

I have turned into a exercise freak this week! Tues 1.5hrs of hip hop class, Wed 5.5hrs of wakeboarding (and in the process I was, not surprisingly, burnt even though I practically coated myself with sunblock), Thurs another 1.5hrs of hip hop class, and today I had an hour of kickboxing.

On top of that, I had been climbing the stairs to get to my house on the 7th storey everyday.

My body is aching like mad now but it feels damn good.

Lets see how much weight I can lose by the time Chinese New Year comes round in 1.5 months time.

Too bad I have to miss next week's kickboxing though as I will be in KL. Must exercise there too to make up for it. Shopping is good exercise too ya? *snigger*

Hip Hop is DA BOMB!

Just a quick update before I fly off for china at an unearthly hour of 7am tomorrow morning. That means I have to be at the airport by 5.30am?!?!?!? OMG!

Last week was still school as usual as I had to go back almost everyday for workshops and meetings. Oh yes, I got my class allocation too, pri 2D again.

Attended a friend's wedding with my boy last sunday. The bridal suite damn nice can! No pictures though except for one of me and my boy when we got home cos in my rush, I forgot to bring my camera along. DUH! *smake forehead*

Signed up for hip hop classes and today was my 1st lesson. Hip Hop is soooo fun can! & it is a damn good workout too. Hopefully by the end of Dec (dance sessions are twice a week, Tues & Thurs, 8 sessions in total) and together with my wakeboard sessions, I will be able to see a fitter and slimmer me for Chinese New Year. =p

Wanted to take up kickboxing lessions on saturdays too but lessons are unable to commence cos not enuff people. Damn. =(

Ok I better go off n shower now. It is 5.30pm already and I still haven pack my luggage. I will be heading over to my auntie's place to stay overnight as she stays much nearer to the airport.

Today is my school's annual dinner cum farewell (cos my VP is leaving) and I was tasked to handle the most important part of the program...the emceeing and the slides presentation + stage backdrop.

Thankfully everything went smoothly, my P loved my backdrop design, and though I didn't manage to have a proper meal, it was great!

On the way home, there was a MASSIVE traffic jam right up from the tunnel at Outram and stretching all the way to PIE Changi! Good thing I was smart enough to exit and took a detour home via Thomson. Otherwise, god knows what time I would have reached home! *shudders*

Anyway, after just as I was about to head for the showers, a website caught my attention and I spend the next half hour doing 3 different IQ tests.

And guess what?

And at IQtest.com, supposedly the home of the original online IQ test ( http://www.iqtest.com ), my result is 135.

According to this website http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/IQBasics.html (or any other websites that you can get from the internet), my IQ is in the 2nd highest range, meaning I have very superior intelligence! Muahahaha...

Didn't managed to take any photos during the dinner today as like I mentioned earlier, I was simply too busy. I know there will be many shots of me in the school's camera (candid shots done while I was emceeing, etc but no posed ones) but all I have now are 2 pictures taken before the dinner started, simply becos these 2 teachers are pretty close to me in school and they are leaving so I had insisted on a picture with them as a memory.

The 3rd photo is a photo of 3 of my gals who I happen to chance into at the school bus-stop one late evening when they went Hari Raya-ing. I didn't have my camera with me that day so in the end, I had to use my mobile phone camera (n that explains the grainy quality of the shot).

Last Day of School!

FINALLY!

Friday was the last day of school for the primary level and though the day was greeted with much happiness and joy as both teachers and students look forward to a well deserved 1 month rest, there were also much sadness as we say our farewells to our kids (especially for me cos I will still be in the morning session next year but my P2 kids will be in the afternoon session so I will hardly get to see them) and a few colleagues who would be leaving the school.

Not many pictures for this entry as I didn't take photos with my colleagues. Instead I will leave that to Tuesday as it is our school's annual dinner (and I was asked to be the emcee for the night).

Oh, and this post is gonna be a short one too as I don't have alot of things to update.

Gigolo vs Virgin

Wahahaha...Now that I have your attention...No, I am not going to go into a lengthy discussion between the differences of a gigolo and a virgin (though I am sure many of you will know what their MAIN difference is =p)

Instead, what I wanna talk about are the 2 movies that are currently screening across Singapore, "Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo" and "The 40 year-old virgin".

Dude, when did the leaning tower appear in the movie???

URGH! With that haircut, it's no wonder he is still a virgin!

Now...as we ALL know, Singapore is a boring place at night, especially if one's preference does not include getting pissed drunk and/or shaking your booty along with hundreds of hot sweaty bodies while clubbing and/or pubbing. So on a friday night or over the weekends, how do you entertain youself when all the shops have closed for the day? Watch midnight movie lor!

It has been a long time since I've last been to a movie. In fact, the last show I caught with my guy was "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and that was well over 2 months ago! However, I must have been bitten by a movie bug recently cos I ended up dragging my guy to the movies for 2 consecutive Saturdays (Actually the 2nd movie was supposed to be on a Friday but we didn't managed to get any tickets, even for the midnight show so *shrugs*).

As far as I can remember, the censorship board in Singapore is pretty anal about the movies that are being screened locally. The slightest bit of nudity or violence will entitle the movie to a R(A) rating (but that doesn't mean that the movie is not being censored even further...in the end, what you get is probably a 1.5hrs of senseless crap) and sex scenes will end up as floor decorations in the censorship board room.

I am not too sure what happened during 2 months that I was away but WOAH!!! Not only did movie "Gigolo" and "Virgin" had nudity in it (Bare, NAKED breasts! And they weren't even censored in the least bit!!), but there were scenes of porn (in 40yr-old virgin) and discussion of pretty controversial topics too.

Well, all I can say is "WELL DONE SINGAPORE!"

At least they are no longer anal...well, not THAT anal anyway. *Laffs*

Oh yes rite, if you r really bored and have nothing to do, go catch the 2 movies. They are really funny...good way to end a bad day as laughter is always the best medicine, ain't it? *winks* But if you have time to catch only one, then "Gigolo" will be a better bet. Then again, it might just be a personal preference.

What a week it has been!

It is examination week for primary school this week...a nightmare not only for the primary school students, but more so for teachers!

Although not much teaching is done, we still try to squeeze as much revision as we can after the papers everyday, hoping that the extra bit of knowledge will make a difference between a pass or fail.

After school, we will then have to stay back to make sure that we finish marking the scripts on the day itself.

11 primary 2 classes, 40 students per class, 10+ pages for each script for English and 23 pages for Maths. After that, the pri 2 teachers also have to help the primary 4 teachers to mark the Science papers.

IMAGINE HOW MANY PAGES OF MARKING I HAD DONE OVER THE PAST 4 DAYS!!!!

*faints*

Everyday, by the time I get home, all I wanna do is to change into my PJs and crash into bed.

Yesterday was classic...I got home around 5pm (I know it sounds early but dun forget that I start work at 7.15am!), took a nap, n when I woke up, I tot it was morning already n I paniced cos I tot I was gonna be late for school!

Sighz...its time to go mark papers again so I will update again later.
